It was pretty touch and go at first if Real was going to win, but finally towards the end they scored and went in to overtime with a final score of 4-1 Real, it was a huge deal. Every time Real scored the fans went crazy and took of their shirts or smashed their empty glasses on the floor! After dinner, we made our way to Puerta del Sol to partake in the celebration with everyone. We were going to try and make it to Plaza de Cibeles where most of the Real fans would be celebrating but we did not quite make it there. We ran into some people that were visiting from New Jersey and ended up exploring with them and grabbing drinks at a few random bars! The atmosphere all over the city was crazy and intense with excitement! Of course Lauren and I bought some cheap Real jerseys from some street sellers.
We made it to our tour for the Casa Museo de Lope de Vega- he was not a very faithful man. He had 4 wives, several affairs, 19 children, and at some point he was studying to be a priest then got a woman pregnant? Finally went back to priest hood after most of his children had passed away and when he got to be older. Most of the items inside his house were authentic. We also weren't allowed to take photos of the inside of the house...
We finally arrived in Bilbao 20 minutes later and had to find a taxi to take us to Getxo. Our taxi driver did not really understand where we were going but we finally made it to Getxo only to be a little lost. We couldn't find our address and our gps maps would not work. After getting out of the taxi several times and asking locals for directions we made it to our homes! 30 euro's later...my family was so excited for me to finally arrive and I was beyond happy to meet them!
